7th Children of Asia International Sports Games 2022 to be held in Vladivostok!
Today, on October 13, Mr. Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee, and Mr. Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of Primorsky Krai, signed an agreement to hold the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games in 2022. The Games are scheduled from July 27 to August 8, 2022.
Vladivostok is ready for organization and holding the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games in 2022,” noted Mr. Oleg Kozhemyako. He added that Primorsky Krai is currently a dynamically developing region, has experience in holding not only sports competitions, but also major events where the country's top leadership and top officials of the Asia-Pacific region participate. Vladivostok owns all the necessary infrastructure for holding the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games.
According to the Conception of Children of Asia International Sports Games, the program includes 17 compulsory sports. Primorsky Krai as an organizer (country / region), proposed to include 2 additional sports into the program: badminton and dance sports (breaking), as well as the following disciplines - open water swimming, Greco-Roman wrestling.
Thus, young athletes of the 7th Games will be competing for medals in 19 sports: badminton, basketball (3x3 basketball), kurash, khapsagai wrestling, boxing, volleyball (beach volleyball), judo, track and field athletics, mas-wrestling, table tennis, swimming (including open water swimming), shooting, sambo, wrestling (freestyle, Greco-Roman), archery, dance sports (breaking), taekwondo, mini-football (futsal), rhythmic gymnastics.
It is planned to use 10 competition facilities located in Vladivostok and Artyom cities for competitions and training. Sports facilities fully comply with the requirements and standards for holding Games of this scale.
Accommodation and meals for young athletes, as well as entire training process, are planned to organize at the Ocean All-Russian Children's Center where a fully-equipped Athletes’ Village will be situated. According to the organizers, not only training, but also athletes’ leisure time, introduction with cultures of participating countries, Russian language lessons, master classes, excursion programs and much more will be organized here. The Far Eastern Federal University campus will be accommodating coaching and referee staff, as well as volunteers.
Mr. Oleg Kozhemyako assured that the Government of Primorsky Krai will make every effort to conduct the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games at a high organizational level.
President of the Committee Mr. Vladimir Maksimov stressed that the Bid Committee of Primorsky Krai headed by the Governor carried out a well-coordinated work on application taking into account all requirements of the International Committee. Members of the Committee's Board unanimously voted to confirm Vladivostok as the host city of the 7th Children of Asia Games.
“I am sure that the Games in Vladivostok will bring bright moments into the glorious history of development of children's sports and Children of Asia International Sports Games and will give an additional impetus to development and a good legacy to Primorsky Krai,” he added.
The 7th Summer Children of Asia Games were supposed to be held in 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Games were postponed to 2022.
