The 4th Children of Asia Games

The 4th Children of Asia International Sports Games were organized and held under the patronage of the IOC from 3rd to 13th of July, 2008 in 18 sports in three cities of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
City of Yakutsk hosted competitions in Basketball (boys), Boxing, Volleyball (boys, girls), Freestyle Wrestling, Judo, Athletics (including Yakut Jumps), Mas-Wrestling, Powerlifting, Artistic Gymnastics, Archery, Taekwondo, Football, Draughts, Chess and Shooting (promotional kind).
City of Mirnyi hosted Rhythmic Gymnastics, Football and Dance Sport.
City of Neryungri hosted competitions in Basketball (girls) and Table Tennis.
For the first time the program of the Games included Basketball and Freestyle Wrestling among girls, and included Shooting as a promotional kind of sport.
Athletes from 16 foreign countries and 27 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the competitions of the Games with total number of team members of 3,038 people, from which 949 people were from Asian countries, 2,089 – from regions of Russia.
