Mr. LEONID SPIRIDONOV: HOLDING THE CHILDREN OF ASIA GAMES IN THE HOMELAND WILL BECOME A BRIGHT INTERNATIONAL HOLIDAY
As part of the round table dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Children of Asia International Committee, a report was presented by the Minister of Sports and Physical Culture of Yakutia Mr. Leonid Spiridonov.
To date, the composition and position of the organizing committee, as well as the plan for the main activities for the preparation and holding of the 8th Children of Asia Games, have been approved.
In addition to the 17 compulsory sports, the Board of the Committee approved 5 additional sports - clay shooting, chess, dance sports, kickboxing and the game of go. In addition, it was proposed to include disciplines in the sports program for the sport "Wrestling": Greco-Roman wrestling and freestyle wrestling (surdo), the committee also approved the proposal of the republic "classic volleyball".
During the Games, 21 facilities in the city of Yakutsk will be involved. In the period 2023-2024 it is planned to implement the construction of two sports facilities: a multifunctional sports hall and an indoor skating rink.
In order to timely prepare the 8th Children of Asia International Sports Games in summer 2024 in Yakutsk, it is planned to create a Directorate for the preparation and organization of the 8th Children of Asia Games.
Mr. Leonid Spiridonov noted that Sakha Republic (Yakutia) has rich experience in holding major competitions of the Russian and international level, in which athletes from all regions of Russia and foreign countries participate, as he said holding Children of Asia International Sports Games at home will become a bright international holiday, contributing to the development of youth sports and friendship between children from different countries.
The planned date for the 8th Children of Asia Games is from June 25th to July 7th, 2024. The total number of participants in the Games according to the draft regulation can be up to 3,000 participants aged 13 to 16 years. Participation of teams from Asian countries and federal districts and regions of the Russian Federation is planned for the Games.
