President of the Children of Asia International Committee Mr. Vladimir Maksimov, as part of a working trip, visited the start of the Torch Relay in the city of Mezhdurechensk:

On behalf of the Children of Asia International Committee, I want to congratulate you on this sunny day with the start of the Torch Relay in Mezhdurechensk and thank all the residents of the city for the attitude and attention that you pay to physical culture and sports and preparations for the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games. I want to note that the largest variety of countries and flags of participants is in the competitions in alpine skiing and ski jumping, which will be held in Mezhdurechensk. I think we will witness a holiday of friendship and sports, and the legacy that will remain after the Games in the form of trained personnel and excellent sports facilities will continue to serve to ensure that Mezhdurechensk becomes the capital of ski jumping in Russia.  Dear friends, fire has always been a sacred symbol for all people, fire unites people, fire warms us, so the Fire Relay is, first of all, a unifying event that tells about the history of the Games.
