TASHKENT IS INTERESTED IN HOLDING 1st CHILDREN OF ASIA URBAN GAMES
Within working visit to Uzbekistan, President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee Mr. Vladimir Maksimov met with the Khokim of Tashkent Mr. Jakhongir Artikkhodzhaev.
The parties discussed a new project of the Committee aimed at development of the urban environment and street sports. The management of Tashkent expressed its readiness to take part in the bidding company for the right to host the 1st Children of Asia Urban Games.
The head of the city, Mr. Jakhongir Artikkhodzhaev, said that Uzbekistan is currently actively working to promote a healthy lifestyle and mass involvement of residents in sports. During the year, more than 600 workout grounds were built in the capital city, as well as mini-football grounds and children's playing areas.
Children of Asia Urban Games are planned next year. The host country may propose to include up to three street sports in the program of the Games in addition to the five main ones. At the end of September this year, the Committee will launch a bidding campaign for the right to host the 1st ever Children of Asia Urban Games that will last till December.
