LEOPARD USSURI AND TIGER CAF: MASCOTS OF 7TH CHILDREN OF ASIA GAMES GIVEN NAMES
A contest was held to choose the names for the mascots. The best variants were chosen by voting. The largest number of votes and sympathies earned the names of Ussuri and CAF. The results were announced during the 100th Days to Go to the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games.
The Far Eastern leopard, a flexible and smart athlete, has been named Ussuri in honor of the river Primorye. The Amur tiger, a cheerful and fearless lover of martial arts, was named CAF. This name is an abbreviation that combines the first letters of the Olympic motto “Citius! Altius! Fortius!" - Faster! Higher! Stronger!
The authors are Daria Velikaya from Chuguevka of Primorsky Krai and Ekaterina Zvereva from Irkutsk. They got certificates for sets of Children of Asia Games branded uniform.
